story
Violin, viola and cello, where every note is a performance. Nothing holds still, nothing snaps to a grid.
Most string libraries ask how loud. Blisko asks how dense.
Every note is played by Marta Zalewska, my go-to string player for years of film scores, one instrument at a time. I recorded her as close and as quiet as possible, in a still room that bloomed gently around whatever she played. She called it playing under a microscope: you hear all of it, the bow on the string, the breath inside a harmonic, the unevenness of a hand moving this softly.
The attitude of Górecki's Third Symphony - a whisper that keeps growing - and the restless movement of John Luther Adams's Become Ocean, folded into the way Marta and I work. Playing the Blisko plugin feels like working with a player: you ask for something, it answers in its own, often surprising way.
